On Tuesday morning, a man was hit by a car while crossing Route 31 near 176 in Crystal Lake, temporarily causing the shutdown of lanes so that only one lane was passible.
The McHenry County Coroner’s Office pronouced him dead after being taken to NIMC by ambulance.
The victim’s name is being withheld until his family can be notified by police. According to The Northwest Herald, the driver of the vehicle was a 60 year old man from McHenry.
