The Labor Day weekend always brings out stepped-up law enforcement patrols, and this year was no exception.  The mobilization included many extra officers on the street in Crystal Lake as part of the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It Or Ticket” crackdowns.  Over the three day weekend, 95 tickets were issued for offenses such as talking on a cell phone while driving (a form of distracted driving), moving violations, speeding, equipment violations, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.  Several people were arrested for various driving-related offenses such as DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, possession of cannabis, and possession of a controlled substance.
